Halfway Through the Month

If you all remember, I set monthly goals at the beginning of the month. There were a lot of them. There were a lot of long and difficult ones. But I felt like I could do it anyways. Let’s now revisit them and see where I’m at…

– Continue the Weekly Goals… Working on!
– Write Scripts for Value Videos… I have the ideas
– Create Crowd Funding Campaign… Profile on IndieGoGo, inactive campaign in the works
– Brainstorm Book Ideas… I have a little list
– Create PDF and CD… In the works
– Write Scripts for Sales Videos… I have the ideas…
– Finish the Thirty Day Challenge… DONE
– Finish Product Final Outline… DONE
– Research How to Make an Official Company… In progress
– Watch the Oscars… They were awesome
– Finish Writing May Goals… Completed!

So, as you see, I don’t really have half done yet. But I have made a significant amount of progress. I’m starting to realize how important planning is for me, and I ended up moving my prospective launch date to two weeks later on account of how the IndieGoGo campaign will work.

Word to the wise, creating these monthly goals is a great idea, but it’s also really a good idea to create a weekly plan. I have a habit of knowing what I need to get done, but not knowing what to do first. If you set a day where you work on a specific task, there’s no excuse not to start!

The questions!

1. What am I excited for today?
Honestly, I’m excited to work on the video for the 4D’s. I have a little script for myself but I’m not very good at memorizing, so we’ll see how it goes. But it should be fun!

2. What am I grateful for today?
I am grateful for headphones. They are great for allowing you to listen to things without disturbing others. They’re also great for numbing the volume of the outside world.

3. What are you absolutely going to complete today?
I am going to walk to the library, do some research, and get some video footage!

No little list for today.

Everyone Needs More Discipline

Yesterday I watched a video sent to me by Brendon. It was from Mel Abraham, and it was about what he called “The 4D’s.”

One of these D’s was discipline. Discipline is something so often missing from our lives, and the lives of the people we know. Discipline is the difference of the project being started and the project being completed. It is the difference between motivation and determination.

Discipline is the reason why the people with entitlement issues truly fail. It’s not so much that they expect a great paying job. It’s that they expect a great paying job right out of college without doing any work for it. Without spending time working towards that goal.

Here are three ways to work on your discipline. First, make a schedule or checklist for what you need to complete today. Only include what you are absolutely committed to finishing. Secondly, reward your accomplishments. If you do finish something and then just move on to the next thing, you’re less likely to finish it because it seems less important. Thirdly, focus on starting a project on time, rather than finishing it. For some of you, this seems counterintuitive, but if you’re able to start things on time, you’re able to make progress in it. It will also help you learn time management by showing you how much time something really needs.

On to the productivity questions!

1. What are you excited about today?
Trying the whole “just work on starting the task” thing. It’s a constant problem of mine, and this concept is actually a little new to me but I’m going to give it a go. New things are exciting.

2. What are you grateful for today?
I am grateful for sites like elance and mturk. They help out so much on both sides of work, both doing and delegating.

3. What are you absolutely going to do today?
I am going to organize my bedroom, finish a book I’m reviewing, and finish filling out my indiegogo profile.

My little list:
1. Read at least 3 more chapters of the review book.
2. Create a Poetic Meditation Transcript
3. Start organizing the room.
4. Finish a weekly goal’s task.
5. Research CD production places to call for a quote.

Have a happy PI day!

A Late Wakeup, A Relaxing Morning

Most people, when they wake up late, get very stressed. Normally because they have somewhere to be or have to do something by a certain deadline.

But have you ever woken up late when you haven’t had to be anywhere or so anything?

The difference is huge. Some people still freak out, but they should really take the opportunity to relax in that kind of situation. Your body has gotten more of the sleep it requires. You don’t need to rush. The sun is shining in through the window…

It’s a wonderful opportunity to let yourself relax. Take that time, that moment, to think about all the wonderful things in your life. Let yourself be grateful for the rest you’ve received.

Then allow yourself a great morning.

Questions time 🙂

1. What are you excited about today?
I’m super excited about brainstorming ideas for my Poetic Meditations. I have a renewed enjoyment for the work that I am doing.

2. What are you grateful for today?
I’m actually really grateful for the opportunity to experience the morning as I have today. It’s just been really amazing.

3. What are you absolutely going to do today?
Today I am going to brainstorm ideas for my meditations, start reading a book I’ll be giving somebody feedback on, and I will work more on the weekly goals.

With that comes my little list:
1. Interact on Facebook as the professional page.
2. Start the book
3. Work on the weekly goal
4. Brainstorm Poetic Meditation Ideas
5. Connect Personal Sites with Google+

Have a Great Day!

The Computer Chronicles Continue

Hello readers!

There are eleven of you currently subscribed, which is pretty spiffy stuff and I thank you for it.

Moving on, my laptop is still dead. But that’s not all. I got accepted for a freelance job on Elance. It involves transcription work and is an hourly job. Well. Hourly jobs require you to use the Elance Work View.

This wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that the old dusty computer here didn’t have Flash-player installed. After spending the morning trying to figure it out, my mother managed to get it to work.

Then I spent 15 minutes trying to install the time tracker because I didn’t realize I had to be on an admin account because it also wanted to install adobe air which it needed to work.

Long story short, I am now working on the project I was assigned to do.

There’s always a solution… It just might take all morning to get it to work.

Also, my friend Tim is coming over once again to try and get my laptop to work.

Moving on to the questions!

1. What am I excited about today?
Probably what already happened… Getting the computer to work. Like it really excites me that it’s now a completely viable, if slow and annoying, solution. I guess I’m also pretty excited to find out exactly what’s wrong with the laptop. If my theory is correct, it’s unfixable, but I’ll be kind of happy to be right. If my theory is incorrect, that means they found a way to fix it, and I’ll be pleased because it’s fixable.

2. What am I grateful for today?
I am grateful for my quick thinking to wake up an hour early after learning I had this job to do, it was a great choice, especially because of the time it took to figure out the computer. I’m also grateful for my mom, because she was able to get the flash to work.

3. What am I absolutely going to do today?
Well, I’m going to finish this job for this guy. I’m also going to work on more research for my product and probably work on getting pictures to sell my massage table and massage chair. I’m thinking of listing them on craigslist for $400 for the pair. It would help a lot with taking care of my product launch.

And here’s my little list:
1. Finish Elance Job
2. Try Plugging Laptop Drive into old computer
3. Create backlog
4. Kajabi lessons
5. Work in scripts

Have a Productive Day!

Rough Start

So my laptop decided it was going to give me problems today. It’s a good thing I got a new charger for my iPad mini. Because now I’m currently unable to use my laptop. :/ Hopefully I’ll get it to work later because I have some important files on it, and laptops are a lot easier to use for me than tablets. Either way I’m going to end up saving up for a new laptop pretty quick here.

Yesterday I was relatively successful. I didn’t finish everything. But I got pretty close. That made me happy.

My March Goals are:
– Continue Weekly Goals
– Finish the Thirty Day Challenge
– Finish Product Final Outline
– Figure Out Launch Logistics
– Create Actual Products
– Create a Kickstarter Campaign and/or Go Fund Me
– Write Scripts for the Value Videos and Sales Video
– Research How to Make an Official Company
– Brainstorm Book Ideas
– Watch the Oscars
– Finish Writing May Goals

So that’s a snippet of what my month will look like! I actually have two friends that have already volunteered to help me with my project, which is awesome. People are interested in what I’m doing. Which is even more awesome… Yeah.

1. What am I excited for today?
I am excited to work on my weekly goal. It’s pretty fantastic. Tomorrow I get to have a new one chosen. I’m also excited to work on my brand marketing. I love to brainstorm, it’s super fun. I mean, there’s even a brainstorming game I play called “infunitum.”

2. What am I grateful for today?
I am grateful for my new cord for my iPad mini. Without it, I’d be trying to do this on my iPod. Which would then crash because it doesn’t like to do things like this. I knew it was a good idea when I bought this mini so I’m also grateful to my past self for making that choice.

3. What am I absolutely going to do today?
Well, I’m going to work on three of my weekly goal scripts, I’m going to do some book brainstorming, some marketing brainstorming, and I’m going to work on those product outlines! Great stuff today, I’m super excited!

Alrighty, on that note, here’s my list thing:
1. Writing Prompt
2. Organization
3. Backlog
4. Product Outlines
5. Weekly Goal Work

I hope you all have a great day!
